Next CORE Meeting – Wednesday, November 6, 2019 – Flathead Conservation District Office – 3:30-5. September meeting minutes posted.

Hello All,

The September meeting had a lot of great networking and catching up after a busy summer. Information from that meeting is posted on our meeting minutes page. The next CORE meeting as has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, 2019, 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.. It is tentatively scheduled to be at the Flathead Conservation District Office, 133 Interstate Lane, Kalispell, from 3:30 – 5 p.m. The confirmed location will be updated at the end of October.

Trees for the Forest Teacher Workshop, April 4, 2019, 5-7 p.m., Sign up through the PIR Network

Instructor: Ted Hansen, 2019 Artist-Wilderness-Connection Artist

Location: Gateway Community Room in Kalispell.

Ted will walk participants through the unit he developed for students to explore the details of the world around them and create a series of works to better understand the environment in which they live. They will learn about the Important role that nature journaling has played throughout history – both as an artistic endeavor as well as a scientific necessity. The primary format of the artwork created will be a nature sketch journal. They will also participate in a collaborative art making project where they create “trees for the forest.” Sign up through the PIR network
