Fire Speaks the Land Brochure

“Fire Speaks the Land” is an active audiences’ performance in K-6 schools that educates youth about their natural environment through an interactive, innovative performance. The 50-minute gymnasium assembly empowers students to become better stewards of public lands and gives them a sense of pride in their national treasures.

We use music, movement, lights, costumes and narration in a captiviating performance that both educates and enterains. Children adore it! Teachers have called it “The best science lesson I’ve ever seen!” One principal wrote, “My son talked about it all weekend!”  “Fire Speaks the Land connects to the earth science and Indian Education for All curriculum. Each participating School receives and on-line “Teacher Resource Guide” to help teachers prepare students for the performance and follow-up afterwards. This guide is filled with creative activities that linke to the arts, fire science and forest ecology.
