Instructor: Chuck Jonkel, Ph.D.
Meeting Place: Field Camp at Glacier National Park.
The rugged backcountry of Glacier National Park forms one of the only large tracts of secure grizzly habitat left. With a world renowned bear researcher, experience the life of grizzlies and black bears as we learn about their behavior from the signs they leave behind. We will head straight into the heart of grizzly country to view grizzly habitat in locations throughout the park
Empasizing field-based learning experiences, the Institute provides an objective and science based understanding of the area's ecology and its interaction with people. Through this non-advocacy approach to outdoor education, participants can be better prepared to make informed and constructive decisions which impact this and other ecosystems.
