Leisure bike ride to scope out bears and other wildlife.
Instructor: Steve Wirt, B.S.
Meeting Place: Field Camp at Glacier National Park
Springtime in Glacier explodes with new life. You can enjoy this spring fervor while leisurely riding along the “Going to the Sun” Road stopping often to view avalanche chutes for bears and other wildlife. Along with his vast knowledge, Steve will also share with us his uncanny ability to spot wildlife at a distance. Most years the road is closed beyond this point, creating a peaceful cyclist’s paradise.
Empasizing field-based learning experiences, the Institute provides an objective and science based understanding of the area's ecology and its interaction with people. Through this non-advocacy approach to outdoor education, participants can be better prepared to make informed and constructive decisions which impact this and other ecosystems.
