Come learn about our area forests at the Trumbell Creek Educational Forest.
|
The expo is a one-day weekend event for families and five-day event for 5th graders that gives hands-on exposure to the role forests play in our everyday lives.
May 3 through May 7 5th grade classes from three counties visit educational stations at the expo site (fisheries, archeology, wildlife, fire, forest mgmt., plant id, backcountry camp, riparian) and tour an area mill.
On Saturday, May 8 the free family-oriented event includes a .7-mile hike with educational stations about the many uses of private and public forests, free logging lunch, grandstand show, exhibit tent and more.
The dedicated involvement of over 20 individual organizations, groups, agencies, businesses, industry and individuals make this event happen.
